Rabbit Doubt: the Liar must die!

Rabbit Doubt (ラビット・ダウト), also known as Doubt (ダウト-) is a popular videogame among Japanese teenager. Every player is a rabbit and has to survive the attack of a wolf. But there's just one problem, a problem that represents all the interest of the game: the wolf is hiding among the rabbits! And just imagine something: what would happen if people were playing Rabbit Doubt in real life? This is what will happen to and his playmates!...

Former friends becoming enemies, suspicion, hints and betrayals are Rabbit Doubt's main ingredients. Tonogai Yoshiki's graphic style is quite beautiful but I just regret the fact that the expressions of the characters aren't credible at all, plus you never feel how difficult and painful the trial of and his friends is. Someone dies, ok, that's all, nothing much. I mean, all the characters are teenagers, so it would be kinda normal to see them tormented and heavily scared. But nope, they don't really panick or anything when they find a dead corpse.

Rabbit Doubt's concept is great, it sure reminds me of Japanese creation such as Battle Royale in its spirit. But Tonogai Yoshiki only reaches the surface of what could have been a really deep and interesting scenario. Too bad, Rabbit Doubt suffers of a lack of investment.

My rating: 3/6
