La Kolok f/ iSHAWN "Let's Go" (Video)

Catchy hook, beat fresh out the box... Feels like Summer ain't it? La Kolok proves that Rap music isn't all about gangs, money and murder with their brand new video clip. Shout out to my men iSHAWN (on the hook) and DJ Prems (La Kolok's DJ).

The video is directed by Dan Koman who also worked with Rohff, one of the most famous French rapper.

I don't like Swiss rap. As a movement, there's no real Swiss rap. Suffering from an identity crisis for quite a while, swiss rap tries to sound like French and/or American Hip-Hop. In brief: copycats. Therefore, En?gma isn't like them. Rappers acting and making music without pretending to be gangsters, hustlers or drug dealers is kinda rare, so it's worth to notice it. En?gma doesn't pretend to be anybody else but himself, something you can definitely hear and feel in his music and especially in his new mixtape "En Haut 2 l'Affiche 2" ("on top of the game"). Sometimes ego-tripping, most of the time confiding, the rapper of Vevey raps about his impression and feelings of life and values in a rather unique way among Swiss rappers. This sincere speech is musically accompanied by atmospheric beats and b-sides that perfectly represent the rapper's artistic sphere. En?gma kinda floats on the instrumentals and that particularity makes him for me the first representative of cloud rap in French. So if you don't have anything against French-speaking rap and appreciate the work of rappers such as Main Attrakionz and producers like Friendzone, you'll surely be interested by the sympathetic atmosphere of this project. And even if I don't like Swiss rap, I do like some Swiss rappers like En?gma.

Good bye Geneva... Hello Tokyo!

When you'll read this post, I will gently but surely be on my way to Tokyo. Yep, I'm leaving my hometown of Geneva (Switzerland) for a while to live an exciting life experience in Japan. So what will happen out there? Drawing, working, learning Japanese, meeting my friends and my girlfriend, trying to help people out there... so many things at the same time. I'd like to thank my parents who understood me and helped me a lot to realize this project. I don't know what will happen with the nuclear threat and Fukushima... I just know it's risky. But that's my choice as a man to go right now. I thought about the situation, hesitated, felt so bad about the terrible fate of the Japanese people... But I took my decision: I prefer to live one day as a tiger than 100 years as a passive person.

My apartment is located in Shinjuku, in Tokyo, and I worked hard to make that dream comes true. Too many frustrated people wanna leave Geneva, thinking the city is the main cause of their unhappiness and negative thoughts. I ain't like that. I love Geneva and Switzerland to death and I'm not trying to escape anything. I'm not a product of any environment, I ain't no victim. The environment is a product of me, that's why I feel I can easily be happy everywhere on this small planet Earth. And for this upcoming part of my life, I'll be happy in Tokyo.

But for now, it's "Good bye Geneva... Hello Tokyo!"

And the most important thing: Pray For Japan!!!

My interview on RepreZent.ch

RepreZent.ch is the number 1 hip-hop website in the french part of Switzerland. They just posted a new interview in which I talk about my artworks, my prospects, and the swiss rap game.

The interview is in French (yep, sorry about that), but you can always take a look and share it;).
