In making order in my computer, I just found some very old pictures including that first sketch of my "Aku Soku Zan" artwork. If the character in the middle is exactly the same in the final version (Saitou Hajime) it's not the case concerning the samurai on the left (Harada Sanosuke). I don't know exactly why I decided to draw Harada in a different pose... Mysterious isn't it?

"In The Making": artwork for Shade Sheist (4) + "Money Owners" f/ Timbaland (Video Clip)

Sketch of Shade Sheist, still got a few corrections/adds to do but no big deal. Sheist was really happy when he saw the sketch, it's encouraging: "I am in awe when I see this sketch! Your ability to draw me in a position I never was in is nothing short of remarkable!"

Thanks man, the final result's gonna be ill!

"In The Making": artwork for Imam Thug (1) + "Blam" f/ N.O.R.E. (Video Clip)

I'm drawing for Shade Sheist and Queensbridge rapper Imam Thug (Militainment Regime) at the same time. Here's the sketch of Imam Thug in person. He will maybe use the final art for his mixtape "The Mixcake", I don't know anything yet. I'm just drawing... that's all ^^ !

Imam Thug's also a close relative of N.O.R.E. of the legendary rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga. Watch it and hear it here:

"In The Making": artwork for Dogg Master "Back In Town"

Yop people! Here's another "In The Making" episode! This time, I'll show you how I created the artwork "Back In Town" for French talkboxer/producer Dogg Master. You'll find the final art at the end of this article, so come and discover some of the different steps of creation ;)!

Dogg Master and NX of Mafia Canine told me they had an idea for Dogg Master's new album cover: a car flying near a city. Alright, so first thing first, I gotta create a background. A hell of a work!...

Wow alright!... Then I have to put that strange flying car!... But at first I'll draw the characters: Dogg Master and two chicks!

 

 

And it's time to draw the car, let's put some wings too, then add the characters...

Et voilà! Here's the final result after I put the elements altogether:

Killa Sha died on January 18, 2010. He was one of my favorite rapper and also the person who convinced me to draw again after my 6 years off. I'll always be thankful for what Sha did for me... Here's an artwork I did for his first year death anniversary.

"In The Making": artwork for Shade Sheist (1)

I'm actually working with Westcoast rapper Shade Sheist who asked me to draw his new single cover. The song's called "Queen" and it features Latoiya Williams (formerly of Snoop Dogg's Doggy Style Records) on the hook and French producer Sovan on the beat.

I did send a first ugly sketch to Sheist to give him an idea. It's kinda awful, I felt like I was 4 years old ^^... I think Sheist was scared when he saw that! But he was very polite in telling me that it was "almost what [he] had in [his] mind".

And here's the final rough of the setting. I'll continue the art a bit on the left and add the word "Queen" in the middle of the structure.

Time to put some ink and colours too! And after that, I'll draw Sheist on top of this strange "Queen" monument. Please stay tuned!
